Our Story

TEWAKA is a Fijian word meaning; to grow, to spread, to spring forth. 

After 22years in business under our previous business name, Pacific Destinations Fiji, our business like all other tourism businesses in Fiji came to a halt on 26th March 2020 when our international borders closed to the rest of the world when we recorded our first COVID-19 case that became cases……

It was heart breaking to have had to eventually let go of our 110 staff who had been so loyal and committed to our journey when pre-Covid we were providing 24/7 in country travel services to over 70,000 international visitors who chose Fiji as their holiday destination.

Our business was in hibernation for over 20months until when our Fijian Government announced that our international borders would re-open on the 1st December, 2021 following Fiji’s community effort to attain over 80% full vaccination. 

With the renewed energy and vision to spring forth and restore, re-grow our business we decided to re-launch our company with a new Fijian brand that would take us into the “living with Covid-19 era”.

TEWAKA encapsulates the spirit that enabled us to remain steadfast in staying Hopeful through the support of our team members, family, friends and our Faith. It is the Fijian way.
